Must do better. Lovely Grounds and a nice Orangery in front of the River Avon with beautiful views. However, the sandwiches were stale. A slice of cake with limited choice instead of smaller cakes. A better quality Jam was also needed. It tasted cheap. Such a shame as the whole experience could be top notch but the food let it down.More
Sparkling afternoon tea bought from groupon vouchers. Second time, and staff were just as attentive as our first visit.More
Had a great time visiting the Abbey. The guided tour of the house was fun with an excellent guide. We spent time in the gardens and also treated ourselves to lunch. An enjoyable day.More
Booked grounds/guide and an afternoon tea. Problems with booking a table, as they were full... but on the day they seemed to 'squeeze us in'... went for afternoon tea at 1.15, the only availible slot... had to wait outside (suprisingly quite a few empty tables) ... finally got in after saying we had to go for the tour at 2.00... waited until 1.45 for the 'afternoon tea', and finally told them we had to go... they kindly said 'sorry' why dont you come back... OK we did at 2.50 and were seated. Again quite a few tables free and a few not cleared... we waited and waited ... finally 35 minutes later we had the 'afternoon tea' arriving... 2 sandwiches... 2 scones... and two slices of crumbly Victoria 'sponge'. This whole fisco was not helpful for a relaxing day... the staff did say 'sorry' there were only 3 of us, but they didnt seem bothered one bit... I had expected crowds of people... the whole thing was spoilt by the 'afternoon tea'... waste of time and money not to mention driving two hours to get there!!!!More
Bought a Groupon for an afternoon tea with a walk around the grounds. The grounds are lovely and there is a circular walk across the river towards the woods and back. Took us about 45 minutes. The afternoon tea was also lovely - we had 4 types of sandwiches (tuna mayo, cheese mix, egg mayo and ham + tomato), fruit scones and a slice of cake each (choice out of 5). We paid an extra £7 for the house tour (runs on the hour), which was definitely worth it. Paul is a great guide and made it very interesting. All the staff are friendly and helpful.More
